MyCryptoGate and SkyCoin operate under the laws of Costa Rica — a crypto-friendly jurisdiction with no capital gains tax on cryptocurrency trading. Costa Rica does not classify cryptocurrency as legal tender but allows its use as a means of payment.
MyCryptoGate maintains a three-tier KYC system. Guest accounts (Tier 1) are anonymous with limits. Standard accounts (Tier 2) require email verification. Verified accounts (Tier 3) have identity verification for fiat withdrawals and higher limits.
We do not store government ID documents. Tier 3 verification is handled by third-party services who provide only a verification result. User data is stored securely on AWS with encryption at rest and in transit.
